Methods of preparing Artworks for Exhibition

Introduction

Exhibition refers to the space in which artworks are displayed to an audience. Such as pictures, drawings, sounds, sculptures, interactive art by individuals or groups of artists. They can be presented in Art halls, art clubs, museums, private art galleries, open space etc.

Types of Exhibition

1. Juried Exhibition

2. Non - juried Exhibition or Open Exhibition

3. Invitational Exhibition

1. Juried Exhibition: This type of exhibition involves the selection of Artworks to be displayed by a judge ( individual or group) and if there's a price to be won, he selects the winner. Example: inter school art exhibition.

2. Non - juried or Open Exhibition: This type of exhibition allows everyone to exhibit their works.

3. Invitational Exhibition: This type of exhibition involves the organiser displaying artworks supplied by other artists.

Preparing Artworks for display

1. Labelling

2. Framing and mounting

3. Fixing

Assignment

Prepare any artwork for exhibition using any type of exhibition.
