INTERVALS IN MUSIC
An interval can be defined as the diatonic of a tone or notes e.g. A to B is called a major second, while the non-diatonic interval of a semitone E to F is called a minor second. Example doh reh meh
Examples of Intervals
C to D: a major second (Doh to Reh) M2nd
C to E: a major third (doh to meh) M3rd
C to F: a perfect fourth (doh to fah) P4th
C to G: a perfect fifth (doh to soh) P5th
C to A: a major sixth (doh to lah) M6th
C to B: a major seventh (doh to tote) M7th
C to C: a perfect octave (doh to doh) P8ve
NOTE: E to F are natural semitone which means minor intervals.
