TIE AND DYE Tie and dye is applying dye substance on a piece of cloth to create beautiful designs on it. Materials used for Tie dye 1. Cotton fabric 2. Raffia, ropes and strings 3. Dye chemical 4. Rubber gloves 5. Spoon 6. Long wooden stick 7. Nose mask 8. Salt 9. Big bowl Methods of tying 1. Pleating method 2. Clump method 3. Circular method 1. Pleating method: The cloth is folded in pleats and tied tightly together to avoid loosening. 2. Clump method: The cloth is folded with hard objects inside e.g. pebble or stone. 3. Circular method: The cloth is picked at the tip, spaced and tied neatly to bring out a circular design.

FOLK MUSIC Folk music is a type of traditional music with no author and is originally passed from generation to generation. It is learned through hearing rather than reading. Types of folk music 1. Western folk music 2. Nigerian folk music 1. Western folk music: These are old traditional English songs practiced from generation to generation which consists of nursery rhymes, lullabies e.t.c.  2. Nigerian folk music: These are traditional rural songs practiced from generation to generation. Most of them are in our local dialects sang at naming ceremonies, weddings, birthdays e.t.c. LETTERING Lettering can be referred to as the act of writing, construction and designing of letters of the alphabet.  Typefaces Typefaces are the styles of letters of the alphabet and all the other characters used to create words. Typefaces can be divided into two groups, namely the script, the text or block. Types of letters 1. Script letters 2. Text or block letters 1. Script letters: This style of handwriting is done freely in cursive characters. It is divided into two, serif and San serif. (i) Italic letters: This type of letters are written leaning to the right (slanted). (II) Old English letters: This type of lettering is complex and has ornaments with bold strokes.  2. Methods of preparing Artworks for Exhibition Introduction Exhibition refers to the space in which artworks are displayed to an audience. Such as pictures, drawings, sounds, sculptures, interactive art by individuals or groups of artists. They can be presented in Art halls, art clubs, museums, private art galleries, open space etc. Types of Exhibition 1. Juried Exhibition 2. Non - juried Exhibition or Open Exhibition 3. Juried Exhibition: This type of exhibition involves the selection of Artworks to be displayed by a judge ( individual or group) and if there's a price to be won, he selects the winner. RUDIMENTS AND THEORY OF MUSIC Definition Rudiments of music refers to the ingredients or basic elements that make up music. Such as: 1. Tempo 2. Pitch 3. Duration 3. Dynamics 4. Timbre 5. Texture 1. Tempo: Refers to the fastness or slowness (speed) of a musical sound. 2. Pitch: Refers to the highness or lowness of a musical sound. 3. Duration: Refers to the time range or period of a musical sound. 4. Dynamics: This is the loudness or quietness of a musical sound. 4. Timbre: Refers to the sound quality of a note played on an instrument. 5. Texture: Refers to the number of unit lines (melodies) and the relationship they have with one another.
